Introduction: Mt Pleasant Show

CROWD COMES OUT TO PLAY AS CLOUD KEEPS SUN AT BAY!

Thank you to all sponsors and supporters of the show! Mt Pleasant has again proven its reputation as the best country show in the Hills. Well done all!

Organisers invite you to provide feedback to help us continue to put on more great shows.

In the end, the action was hotter than the weather and a relaxed and thankful crowd was treated to another top show at Mt Pleasant.

Secretary Vicki Fawcett summed up the feeling of show organisers- "Overall, considering the forecast conditions, we were extremely pleased with the show and hope that we can continue to build on the success of this and recent years. We would like to thank everyone involved for making the 2008 show a great event!"

In warm but totally overcast conditions, the day was a successful affair with a huge array of exhibits, the exceptional support and commitment of sponsors, participants, exhibitors and volunteers providing the elements needed to attract public interest. Understandably some animal and horticultural exhibits were affected but other categories were well supported with record entries in photography an unexpected plus.

Extra measures taken to counter the heat paid off with plenty of comfortable places to sit and enjoy the atmoshphere and to view entertainment throughout the day and into the early evening.

The shearing competition was a very popular attraction, Champion Shearer, Shannon Warnest backing up his credentials in the open events.
The centre stage area hosted the skills of Keyneton Motor Cycle Club riders and the efforts of Original Boot Camp recruits put through their paces in front of lunchtime crowds. Those who stayed on also witnessed a first- an exciting barrel race contested by horse and motorcycle and, much to the dismay of motorcycle enthusiasts, narrowly won by the horse!

Show Bags sold out in equal record time- you really do have to get in early for a great value buy.

New and interesting attractions are always on the drawing board, so don't miss the next Mt Pleasant Show on Saturday, March 21, 2009.
